Chimney Safety

It is vitally important to ensure when you are burning any kind of fuel such as coal or wood  that you maintain your chimney correctly. There are around 7000 chimney fires annually in the UK, however most of these are preventable. Regular inspection and cleaning of chimneys will help prevent fires.
It is recommended you have your chimney swept at least once a year, often more dependent on the type of fuel you are burning.

  • Bituminous Coal - Twice a year 
  • Wood - Up to four times a year. 
  • Smokeless fuels - At least once a year.


We fully support the governments Burn Better campaign, the purpose of the campaign is to assist in educating people (both homeowners and industry professionals) on how to use their stoves correctly to increase efficiency and to reduce unnecessary pollution.
